TODAY Outside my window... it is hot hot hot -- this is supposed to change soon and my fingers are crossed I am thinking... what great fun this message board is I am thankful for... Jan's help after my unfortunate accident yesterday -- slip of the finger and "poof" the computer ate our journals From the kitchen... all is quiet. I just went and grab some cheese and a knife -- all I need now is the French Bread and wine -- good all the same I am wearing... purple shorts and a pink top -- I really need help with my wardrobe ;D I am creating... a new life -- so far so good I am going... to be home tomorrow, a young fellow is coming to help me get rid of some "over" growth in my front yard area I am reading... Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett -- yes I have actually finally started it. Want to share some descriptive prose that I came across in it with you. "She could not comprehend the irresistible attraction of building a cathedral; the absorbing complexity of organization, the intellectural challenge of the calculations, the sheer size of the walls, and the breathtaking beauty and grandeur of the finished building." Isn't that lovely? Made me think of creating an imaginary online WWWCOF community -- each of us designing and decorating our individual homes and all of us contributing to ideas for the town centre ..... anyway I do digress and I have no idea at the moment how to go about this so I will leave that idea for now. I am hoping... everyone has fun with this new wonderful collection of boards on this Between Friends category and has the time to post often I am hearing... Law & Order (television show) in the background. I just finished watching So You Think You Can Dance -- down to the final 4 -- in 8 days they will announce the dancer in First Place ..... this seems to have gone by so quickly. Around the house... Maddy, our new little (well not so little now) English Bulldog is lying right on top of one of the floor vents .... the A/C is on and I think she has discovered her favourite spot in the house One of my favorite things... English Toffee Coffee from Tim Hortons A few plans for the rest of the week: I have a meeting on Friday Here is picture for thought I am sharing... Attachments:

TODAY - August 8/2010 Outside my window... there is a light rain falling, thank goodness I am thinking... what a great time I had yesterday. Lovely visit with Kendra and family at their campsite and good drive both there and back I am thankful for... my friends on the internet From the kitchen... comes the clanging of dog dishes ... feeding time at the zoo I am wearing... a blue dress with a multi coloured scarf serving as a belt as I can not find the belt I am creating... a new life I am going... to go to church this morning. I have not been for a few years now I am reading... Pillars of the Earth still -- bit of a slow process as I have to stop and reflect on what I have just read. Came across a word I was not sure of the meaning " precipitate", so naturally I had to go look it up. Meaning: 1. to hasten the occurrence of; bring about prematurely, hastily, or suddenly: to precipitate an international crisis. 2. to cast down headlong; fling or hurl down. 3. to cast, plunge, or send, esp. violently or abruptly: He precipitated himself into the struggle. I am hoping... Kendra and family have a safe trip back home today I am hearing... my budgie chirping .... better check her water/food Around the house... things are so far so good -- nice quiet and peaceful Sunday One of my favorite things... driving .... a love to drive A few plans for the rest of the week: I have to get my finances in order Here is picture for thought I am sharing... Hello everyone. Jan I heard once that cornmeal can be used as a weapon against ants, and it's not poisonous to people (actually I have a recipe for cornmeal pancake somewhere) or animals. Ants eat it, and after consuming water, the cornmeal swells inside their digestive organs, killing the ants. Might be worth a try. Not very long now until your retreat ... can not wait to hear about that! I have never been on a retreat so I am very curious to hear about it. The location looks superb! Funny you would mention laundry as I just completed that task myself. I am one of those crazy people who loves to do laundry. I am not sure why but I do .... I think somehow to me it creates a sense of home. Church was amazing. Bible Study was The Second Book of the Kings; Chapters 1 through 5. This is, as all books of the Bible are, a very fascinating read. These chapters speak of the close bond between the two men (Elijah and Elisha) and the passing of the mantle. The parting of the waters, chariots of fire, leprosy -- all the ingredients for a best selling novel -- always amazed me why more people do not read the Bible as the stories contained therein are the best ever told. The one thing that Elisha asked of Elijah was " a double portion of his spirit". Think about that! When you meet loving and kind people that really make a difference in your life would you not like to be left with a double portion of their " spirit"? I would. Anyway enough of that as I could go on for hours with my reading between the lines and my interpretations of things, including the bible. The Relief Society has a conference coming up on Saturday, September 25th, 2010 (1 pm - 5 pm) that I hope to be able to attend. Daphne, did you get a hold of Agos on Childrens Day. It is not something we hear of here but I am sure the children would love for it to catch on. Early Happy Birthday wishes to Romina. Congrats on the brand new grand nephew (did I meet the parents?) Good luck at the lawyers. Happy Monday everyone! Attachments:

Hi Louise and Linda-Lou and thank you so much for posting your journals .... wonderful to hear from you. Linda-Lou it has cooled off here these past few days -- even got some light rain falls -- the sun is back out now so I think the heat will be back in full force, if not tomorrow, then Wednesday for certain. I know what you are saying about the $$$$$$$$ Air Conditioning but at least we can be so grateful to have it. I am not so concerned for myself but our dogs really do not tolerate the intense heat very well at all. So sorry to hear about your friend being in the hospital. Louise the picture of the beach really looks inviting. Would love to see some of that huge family photo collection that you have, hint hint. Have a wonderful day girls .... I read something in my book today that I would like to share. If we make decisions thoughtfully and prayerfully; the outcomes of those decisions will be blessed and
we will joy in the knowledge that we have made the right decisions. Sharon

So wonderful to hear from you Irene and I hope you have a wonderful time in Vancouver visiting your grandchildren. Do be sure to take and share some pictures. Your life does indeed sound tranquil and I love reading about the wildlife and birds (especially the comment about them competing in song; lovely) who share your morning coffee with you. Our dogs have that same "daft" time -- both in the morning and in the evening ..... must be something to do with feeding time at the zoo, lol. The easiest way to share a picture would be to do so from the screen you are in when you post a message. Allow me to try to explain. The first section is the - Subject (of your post) The second is the - Attachment (i.e. your picture) ... if you click on the "Browse" box, a seperate box will open containing files on your computer and when you find the picture on your hard drive that you want to share with us .... simple click on that picture and press open. This will return you to where you are preparing your message on here to post. When you post your message this picture that you have selected in the "Attachment" box will appear at the end of your message. I hope I explained that okay. Please try it and see if it works.
