Today is Friday the Thirteenth so I thought I would carry on with that thought for a some of my five thoughts .... perhaps most of them, lol.
These came from comments made by COF members on Facebook that you will be interested to hear about.
1. Rosina ...... I consider Friday the thirteenth to be a lucky day as my daughter was born on a Friday the 13th.
2. Bigsis Pat ..... 13 is my lucky number. And I arrived in this wonderful country I call home on Friday April 13th, 1945.
3. Wenda ...... My daughter was born on Friday the thirteenth too. She was also the 13th member of my husband's family. We were together 13 months and 13 days, We were in the hospital 13 days and she was born in 67. That was my lucky day.
Well three thoughts out of five is not too bad, so on to other things.
4. Thinking about Jan's comments about being moderator on all the boards in the Between Friends category. Each and everyone of these boards were developed by Jan for the enjoyment of each of us in the WWWCOF and if she is willing to be moderator then I believe we are fortunate to have her. If anyone would like to assist her please let one of us know and we will be happy to add you as a moderator also. If there is any other board you would like to moderate please let us know that also and we will be thankful and happy to set you up.
What are the duties of moderator you might be thinking? Well for the most part they are to respond to member posts which is something we each enjoy doing anyway. It is a great way to get to know the other members so jump in -- "the water is great"!
5. Last, but definately not least is the The MV Sun Sea, a ship carrying nearly 500 migrants from Sri Lanka, including some very young children, which was intercepted off Vancouver Island on Thursday and boarded by RCMP officers and members of the Canadian Navy from a flotilla of vessels, including the frigate HMCS Winnipeg. Human smuggling and terrorists are issues with those aboard this ship which reportedly is not the only vessel heading to Canada. It is believed that some of those aboard are members of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, better known as the Tamil Tigers which is is outlawed as a terrorist group in Canada, as it is in the United States and the European Union.
Disturbing news and one that most Canadians I hope will follow with interest as Canadians uphold human rights and believe in offering protection to genuine refugees, but it is imperative that we prevent supporters and members of a criminal or terrorist organization from abusing Canada's refugee system.
The kind of story that leaves you "nauseated with anxiety".
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
Sharon
