Nothing says Halloween to me like Popcorn Balls. CANDY POPCORN BALLS 1 gallon popped popcorn 1 lb. M&M'S type candy or Smarties 2 pkgs. candy corn (at Christmas you could add small gum balls, etc.) 1/2 c. oil 1/2 c. butter 1 lb. mini marshmallows 2 tsp. vanilla Pour popcorn into a huge bowl. Put butter and marshmallows in a large microwave bowl. Microwave on high 1 1/2-2 minutes (or until marshmallows are puffed). Mix together with spoon. Pour marshmallow mixture over popcorn mixture. Stir with spoon until popcorn is evenly covered. Let mixture cool slightly. Add candies and candy corn. Grease hands well with butter and shape mixture into balls. Place balls on wax paper until completely cool. Makes about 24 popcorn balls. Wrap with Saran Wrap. Decorate with a bit of ribbon, etc. and your little people friends will adore you when you hand these out. Now-a-days, for safety reasons, you can only give these to children who know you ... if they arrive at your door without their parents it would be a good idea to have a note attached with your name & phone number, in case the parents are concerned as to where they have come from. It looks great for the little ones. Fun as well. It's a good idea to have a note attached just incase. Good thought.
