Written Tuesday Night and posted on jandante43.blogspot.comOutside my window... It is dark, 9.15pm, and no moon, but it has been a very pleasant, sunny day, calm max 27C and about 19C now I am thinking... that a lot has happened since I posted last week. We have had quite a few people drop in, and expected visitors for lunch last Saturday, another sister and hubby and a grandson. Afer that I attended an fashion parade - afternoon tea at a church hall which was a fundraiser for the child they support overseas. I am thankful for... family and friends. I am also thankful to have news from daughter, that things are moving for her. From the kitchen... the last thing was my cup of Milo. Must mention that Barry roasted a chicken in the camp oven (outdoor) last Saturday, and it was so tender and moist. I am wearing...nightwear I am creating... hand knit items and crochet for Missions without borders. Finally I am really happy with the face on the teddy bears, and I have eight waiting for their faces and fill, and I learnt a new way to crochet scarves at the Care and Share this morning. I am going... just usual things this week.... bible study, exercise. I am reading...Insight into Forgiveness by R kallmier and S Jacobs, and starting the eight session Christ Empowered Living handbook and DVD by Selwyn Hughes. I am hoping...that our friend that we left our harmony pedal with this afternoon will come up with a solution as to why it is faulty. Barry tested it and it is OK for about half an hour then stops. We had a nice visit with them too. I am hearing... Barry playing a youtube Around the house... tidier than usual. My Peace Lily is doing well. It was drooping most of the time and since I have been sitting it in an additional bowl of water, it has been happy. One of my favorite things...Springtime, it is so pleasant not to have to think of heating or cooling. and the birds seem even more joyous than usual. A few plans for the rest of the week.... we are visiting a friend who was here yesterday so excited about her Wii exercise program. We are going out on Thursday for lunch. They live 27kms out of town. Here is a picture for thought I am sharing... a Jacaranda tree I snapped as I walked through town to meet our walking group this morning. They can be glimpsed all through town at present, in parks and also private gardens. Attachments:

Outside my window... it is dark, damp and a little chilly. Jack Frost has not made an appearance yet but I do not think it will be too long now until he does. I am thinking... how nice it was for a friend (Wayne) to have stopped by yesterday even if it meant that I had to miss chat. Very odd situation but Wayne used to own this house that Yvonne and I now call home and every so often, out of the blue, he will stop in and check up on us. I think he really misses this place. I am thankful for... my health. There seems to be a lot of flu and cold making its rounds and so far, touch wood, I have been able to avoid it. From the learning rooms...(if this applies) -- I am always learning -- every single day I learn something that I did not know before. For example for the past several months I could not get any of my outside plugs to work except the ones that were on the roof overhang. This was quite annoying as I have an electric smoker BBQ that I had to run an extension cord from the roof .... same for my electric lawnmower. Happened to mention it one day recently to my neighbour John who showed me how to fix it with a reset button on a plug alongside the garage. VOILA -- just like magic -- everything worked! Can you imagine? I did not even know there was a reset button on that switch. I knew of one at the back of our home and tried several times unsuccessfully to reset it but obviously it does not have anything to do with the outdoor plugs. Anyway all is well now. Good neighbours are worth their weight in gold. From the kitchen... the dogs are busy inhaling their breakfasts. I had some Yorkshire Pudding left over from our Monday dinner and they have been getting a half of one of those each before breakfast .... I am a very popular person (at least to them) these past few days. I am wearing... I just finished my shower and have dressed in brown pants and purply/red shirt. I am creating... my crochet and my puzzle are in Vancouver so I will continue working on those later this week. I am going... to town soon to run a few errands but should be home well before chat. I am reading... not in the mood really to read, grab the paper and browse through it on occassion but not a whole lot to report from their either. I am hoping... that whomever replaces our former Premier, who just resigned (out of the blue) is a fair and accountable person. I am hearing... Breakfast Television .... which reminds me our clocks go back one hour on Sunday. Supposed to mean we get one hour extra sleep. I could not help but think -- which is always a dangerous thing for me, lol. This is very much a 24/7 world these days. What happens to those folks working shifts that overlap the midnight hour -- do they only work 7 hours on Sunday and get paid for 8 or? Around the house... I have to do a pit of clean up as I will be heading back to Vancouver early tomorrow morning. One of my favorite things... riding Sky Train in Vancouver. I did that for the very first time in my life last Saturday and I thought it was amazing! A few plans for the rest of the week: I am not too sure .... will be away from home but I will keep in touch. Here is picture for thought I am sharing.. Attachments:

Outside my window... everything is growing in wild profusion.... not necessarily what I planted or where I did, true to the fact that my little garden is a piece of jungle (in spring at least) I am thinking... I wouldn't mind a bigger garden I am thankful for... modern inventions like the Internet for fast communication with the world From the learning rooms...(if this applies) From the kitchen... a delightful aroma of freshly baked lemon pie I am wearing... outdoor trousers and a flowery T shirt I am creating... still on my bead/ sequin peacock I am going... out to lunch today I am reading... The corruptress by Guy desCars... heavy going I am hoping... my daughter and son -in-law have a good trip home whensoever that is , soon I am hearing... the washing machine finish its cycle Around the house... all else is quiet One of my favorite things... lemon pie! A few plans for the rest of the week: nothing unusual Here is picture for thought I am sharing.. just what flower is this? Attachments:

Great to read your posts, Sharon and Daphne.
Everything sounds so contented at your places..... lovely to have a little glimpse into your homes and lives.
Good to see your learning rooms paragraph, Sharon, though that is a heading I usually take out as it is for people who homeschool their children!!!
No I didn't recognise the flower, Daphne.
I must do another journal soon, as the week will get away on me, we do four concerts this week! We've been to tennis today and it got hot, we came home after morning tea, and sitting catching up with ourselves now.

Outside my window... I am thinking... about Daphne and how happy she must be to have her daughter and s.i.l. back in Mar del Plata. I am thinking about Jan and all her Christmas Concerts .... I like to imagine I hear the music and am watching her and Barry perform. I am thankful for... my family, my friends, our pets and my health. From the kitchen... all is quiet, I am the only one up trying to catch up online. The coffee should be ready soon and when I hear the pot sputter I will go and pour a cup. Should I pour you one also. I am wearing... still in my pjs and housecoat -- must think about getting ready to head out soon. I am creating... going to re-create my life; one step at a time. I am going to be as helpful as possible but with limitations as I have been told that I am "sub-servient" and this is not how I wish to be peceived but I believe there is a lot of truth in that. I am going... to work in a couple of hours ... I hope to get all my tasks completed but it has been a busy weekend there. I guess now that the snow has stopped everyone is back out shopping. I am reading... all the wonderful posts on the message board I am hoping... my brother gets to go home on Tuesday I am hearing... my fingers on the keyboard, other than that all is peaceful and quiet .... just heard doggy footsteps so I must get off here for awhile. Around the house... things looks spectacular, Yvonne did not work yesterday and she did a fabulous cleaning job hee One of my favorite things... learning something new each and every day. Did you hear about that mysterious Island that rose from the ocean in Pakistan? Amazing! A few plans for the rest of the week: too early to tell -- all depends on doctors at Vancouver General Hospital. Hopefully get into chat and talk to you soon. Lovely to read your cheery post, Sharon, thanks for your thoughts, and all the best with getting Leyton home, and getting back into your routine. Outside my window... I can hear the dawn chorus. When I woke at about 5.15am there was silence, now there are many little bird voices out there. A very pleasant day coming up, about 20C now at 6.30am I am thinking... that I must try to come to contibute to the forum regularly again. I am thankful for...the ambience of my life, all the good things. From the kitchen.. very little I am wearing...nightwear I am creating...nearly finished the heritage edging on the towels for Christmas gifts for family (bath sheet, hand towel, washer sets I have made up) I am going... to tennis today I am reading... Discovering Australia's Christian Heritage.... I am preparing an email to send to the author.... I am concerned about some of his conclusions and discussed it with a fellow First Fleeter yesterday who agrees with me. I am hoping...that Barry's brother will get around to visiting, he has been saying he is coming for a while. I am hearing... the birds, the bedside clock tick -tocking. Around the house... the garden needs attention, also my crafft room. One of my favorite things... time with friends.... we caught up with good friends at each of our outings yesterday. A few plans for the rest of the week: No concerts this week, and preparing for all the Christmas ones, plus preparations for Christmas..... my printer wouldn't work when I went to print our Christmas letter, but I have the tree up and decorated... spurred on by the news that the Christmas tree had arrived at the White House...LOL. We have 6 guests coming for a Christmas Lunch on 19th so I am mindful of that, and seven concerts between 9th and then. Here is my picture for thought I am sharing........ Some of you have seen it as I posted it on facebook, received in an email from one of the Nursing Homes. Myself and the activities officer with lagerphones at the Australiana program they requested.
