This article was posted on my Simple Joys site, and Sharon left a comment.... a long comment.... which said in part:" I was wondering if I could perhaps publish your story on the COF Message Board under the Physical Challenge section." [/b] Have you found joy in exercise? I'd never been one for exercise, I was a proud workaholic, working, volunteering, doing something useful all the time, or feeling guilty if I didn't, that was how I was brought up. Now that I'm retired, it is the best time of my life, and I'm finding joy in all manner of activities that would not have crossed my mind over the years. I've read that the secret of a good exercise program is to do something you enjoy and some of the special times during the week are my walking group on Tuesdays and lately playing tennis on Monday and Friday mornings (when not singing). The people we meet there are part of the joy, we see them at other activities around town and at Church too..... and they have such generous spirits, it is great fun and we have a good laugh too. Several of the tennis players are over 80, and do well, probably because they have been playing for many years. I am concious now that exercise and laughter are part of God's plan for us to keep our bodies and minds fit. Trusting that you are finding laughter and joy in exercise too. Have a Blessed week. simpleourlives.blogspot.comAttachments:
