We had such a wonderful concert today. It is our favourite place to go anyway. All the staff, and the residents who can, just show so much appreciation. The Activities Officer hugged me 3 or 4 times, and so many of the residents wanted to hold our hands as they told us how much they enjoyed our show. It is a place with plenty of room for our big sound system, and it sounded so good after making do with our small system yesterday, even thoughwe were happy with it at the time and the people there were very appreciative and said it sounded good. I think we will take the big system every day from now on. The other thing I was thankful about was Barry's voice sounded really good, he's getting back to normal after that respiratory virus that has dogged him since we went away in June. Attachments:

So happy to hear about the concert Jan and I wish I could of hear the music with your big sound system, I am sure it was lovely.
I enjoyed reading about the appreciation shown by the Activities Officer and the residents .... if only we could remember to do this in our daily lives -- what a different would this would be don't you think.
I do try to vocalize my appreciation whenever possible and sometimes even hold a hand, or pat a shoulder and sometimes even give hugs but I know I fall short and should be doing it a lot more than I do.
Love, Sharon

I'm glad to hear that Barrys voice is getting better now Jan, and that the concert went well. I agree Sharon, would be lovely if people would appreciate more often. I'm thankful I got to see my Mum today. She visited this morning. She's over from Spain for a few days and will be returning home tomorrow. We get to talk over the Internet quite a lot though. But it was still lovely to see her. =) We also had a heavy downpour of rain this afternoon. I was thankful for that too as the garden needed watering lol. Attachments:

So happy you got to see your mum Louise .... and that you got rain! I have had a very interesting week that I am thankful for. Out of the blue I received a call from a local furniture store that is looking for a part-time front end office person and I have an interview for that job this coming Tuesday. This job is a weekend job -- Friday evenings (5:30 - 9:30 pm); Saturday (9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m) and Sunday (11:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.). If I am successful in getting hired I will still be able to keep my bookkeeping job as it is only one or two mornings a week during the week days. I mentioned it to my boss yesterday and asked her to give me a good recommendation and she said she would. I will keep you posted -- do cross your fingers for me please. Sharon Attachments:
