TODAY from JanOutside my window... been a cloudy day, a reflection of the weather pattern that brought the floods in Victoria and bad weather down south. I am thinking... I love a day home on Sunday I am thankful for... recovering from the respiratory illness over the last ccouple of days. From the kitchen... a baked meal for "Sunday dinner" I am wearing... blue jeans and a smoky pink bluse I am creating... my garden, I transplaned some rocket, planted thyme seeds and I see my garlic have poked through the soil I am going... to feed Tilda... it is 4.30pm. I am reading... Max Lucado Cure for the Common Life www.maxlucado.com/cure/quotes.htmlI am hoping... That we stay well.... funny, when someone sat next to me last week, I felt she was ill, but we can hardly get up and move away. What to do? I am hearing... The end of the Military Tattoo from Scotland on TV... don't know why it is on today, and I have seen it before, but I watch it at any opportunity Around the house... nothing much happening One of my favorite things... Avocados were the cheapest I've ever seen them, when we slipped out for a our supplies this morning. A few plans for the rest of the week: Usual activities this week including 'Care and Share'. Here is picture for thought I am sharing... Here is one of the youtube from the 2009 Military Tattoo I was watching. www.youtube.com/watch?v=zcb9tbFwC8QAttachments:

TODAY Outside my window... the sun has risen, the sky is clear, there is no wind and it looks promising that it will be a beautiful almost Fall day. Hard to believe that it is September already -- I know we always comment about how quicky time goes by but this year time has passed at amazing speed. Perhaps it was because of all that intense heat this past summer .... whatever the reason I try to reflect on just how important it is for us to "seize the moment" and focus on something positive each and every day. I am thinking... about Yvonne's plans to take some courses. I am thankful for... for my new job .... I can make the mortgage payments now. From the kitchen... the sounds of dog dishes rattling about as the "herd" enjoys their breakfast. I am wearing... my housecoat and PJ's .... going to have a shower as soon as the girls leave for their day at the Spa. I am creating... still working on my crochet squares whenever I get the chance. I am going... to work today ... work from 11 to 5 on Sundays. I am reading... still glancing through Homemakers and Woman's World magazines. I am hoping... to be in chat on Tuesday (I have to work Labour Day Monday also from 11 to 5 -- big sale at the furniture store; should be fun. I am hearing... my budgie chirping away ... sounds lovely. Around the house... things are clean and orderly ... Yvonne was off yesterday and she did all the housework. One of my favorite things... is driving and I did take a longer way home yesterday, actually quite by accident. I went to pick up Chinese Food for supper from a place I had never been and got a bit turned around when trying to find my way to the parkway. All was good though as I had to stop and wait as a mother dear and her two little babies casually crossed the road I was on. Lovely ending to a work day! Also it is so nice to see the posts on the boards ... I am so grateful to everyone who takes the time to share some time with us here. A few plans for the rest of the week: Work on Wednesday in Duncan, again at Uncle Sams .... this week only Friday through Saturday however as I have to take my brother and mum to the BC Transplant Centre in Vancouver. Will stay overnight in Vancouver on Sunday and return to the Island on Monday. Here is picture for thought I am sharing... Attachments:

TODAY Outside my window... there are a pair of flickers wandering around, I am thinking... the weather does not look promising I am thankful for... my 3 gorgeous grandchildren From the kitchen... I can smell the apple pie mt neighbour brought us yesterday. I am wearing... fleece pj's over my nightie as it is a tad chilly. I am creating... order out of chaos (well I'm trying) sorting through my winter clothes to donate to the homeless. I am going... to get that haircut I was planning for last week. I am reading... gardening books to plan where we want a couple of flower beds. I am hoping... to attach a picture as per Sharon's kind instructions. I am hearing... birds as usual and a neighbour's horse. Around the house... all is well. One of my favorite things... Being up early, sitting on the patio, with my coffee watching and listening to the birds and animals. A few plans for the rest of the week: I will be joining a quilting group, I'm dying to get into quilting. Here is picture for thought I am sharing... Attachments:

Thank you Sharon I'm so excited that the picture worked. Glad to hear you are feeling better Jan. I was at Edinburgh Castle many years ago for the Tattoo, it's amazing to see and bagpipes sound way better outside than in. Hope everyone has a super week.

Irene you must keep us updated on your progress with the quilting group .... such fun!
I wish my neighbour would bring me an apple pie, lol. Maybe it is up to me to bring them one first after all I did just pick all the apples off my two little trees in the front yard last week and there were plenty to make a few pies.
Jan and Irene, I have never been to Edinburgh Castle but would love to one year!
Glad you got the picture posted Irene! Jan glad you liked mine .... I have some others I will get on too perhaps with other journals.
