Since you all asked me so nicely.... not only is this a beautiful song, but is also a lesson on the region!
Here goes approx:
The waters and sun of the Parana River.Throught the River parana
Water upwards I sail
The sun burns like fire
In the Litoral (region) afternoon
The different fish swim by my side
Through the fast moving river waters
The canoe slowily goes
Injuring the course of the river
Weeping willows, Ceibo of mine
on the banks are found.
The blue of the Jacaranda
Perfume its branches with gold
Spilling out its treasures
into the waters of the Parana.
The water has to carry me
Who can tell to what port
There is only one certain destiny,
To the bitter plains of the sea.
Old River Parana
Waters brown and threatening
In the high grasses
crested birds never stop whistling.
sadness gives me the ceibo
Bleeding in the summer,
And we seem, to be as brothers
in our way of weeping
And my song is nearly done,
as I follow my destiny through the River Parana
River upwards, river goes
against the dark current
Water and sun on my forehead
Water and sun of the Parana.
P.s. The ceibo is the national flower of Argentina
