Thankful we are coping.... We sang again yesterday and will again today. Barry was thinking we would have to cancel again, he has had weeks of respiratory ailment this year, and people are finding even after their body has recovered and they are back to normal, their voice still isn't 100%. However it went well and everyone was happy. Attachments:

Life is for the Living; I really like this expression and gratitude can change the way we live -- I am learning to appreciate the meaning of this more each and every day. Count your blessings is something we're taught from an early age but somehow this has been missing from my life for several years now. It seems I have been spending my time trying to get through one crisis and head off to survive the next one. Recently, I have deligently been trying to define myself and this keeps coming back to the importance of trying to be grateful each day. I want once again to focus on positive emotions; joy, enthusiasm, love, happiness, etc. For me it has become crystal clear that my most important emotion would be optimism. The most important things in my life have and hopefully always will be my family, my health and my home. Thankfully I have not been the sort of person that thinks material goods will make me happier but there are things, in all honesty, that I would really like to have; such as a craft room, some shelves, lol I have been doing a lot of reading on this topic of being thankful and I have set some goals for myself .... (1) I am going to make it a habit to show genuine appreciation for the people who are supportive and who make my life easier (2) I am going to try to begin and to end my day on a positive note and think about something good that happened each day (3) Thanks to Jan, we have these "journals" here on the boards -- they really do help us to stay positive. (4) I am such a "regimented" and "structured" person I am going to strive to think outside the box. (5) I am going to start each day with a positive thought. Today's thought: The best things in life aren't things. - how often we strive to achieve material that we think will make us happy, but in the end it is not material things that make us the happiest. It is those moments, memories, the love of our family and friends - no material thing could ever replace these. I have a lovely example of this tonight. I came home from a busy day at work .... my toilet was running .... no matter how hard I tried I could not fix it -- out of the blue Kendra called to say she had picked up her new earings and how happy she was with them and I jokingly said that she should come over and show them to me and while she was here maybe Paul could fix my plumbing problem -- ten minutes later they were on my doorstep. I am so thankful for my family!!!!!!!!!! PS -- The earrings were very lovely -- regal looking -- Kendra won them the other day and she is so proud of them! Attachments:

And we had a lovely concert again today.... when we got there the staff member in charge greeted us with a huge hug..... everyone was great, and the residents sang along beautifully. Then I picked up their little monthly activities leaflet and there was a photo of us when we where there last time.

A picture of you in the Activities Leaflet, that is wonderful Jan. Love to have you scan and post that! Here is the picture of Kendra's beautiful earrings. She is so happy with them and she will be wearing these when they go for their Christmas photo shoot at the castle in Victoria in about 10 days! Sharon Attachments:

Jan I think it's lovely you were honoured with your picture in the leaflet.
Sharon, Life is for Living is awe inspiring, what a beautiful attitude.
Today I'm thankful that I have the opportunity to get to know you two. I find you both excellent role-models.
So many of the WWCoF are incredible people and I'm very proud to call everyone friend.

Thanks Irene. Here is a really delightful thought for today: " Each day is a new day to start over and be a better person than yesterday." As talked about in my earlier post life is worth living and it's too beautiful to dwell on things that we cannot change! Sharon Attachments:
