Well, some good news regarding the 2012 Olympics. The first thing to be finished is the Water Canoe Course. There has already been some experienced Kayakers trying the course out. It was opened officially by Princess Anne and cost £31 million to build. It will be open for people to use in the run-up to the Olympics. This is brilliant news and great to see a part of the Olympics finished in such good time. Interesting that the next item in the headlines there was about the cuts in funding for schoolchildren. At a rally was staged in central London, European track champion Mo Farah accused Education Secretary Michael Gove of betraying the next generation by withdrawing £162 million of PE funding and sacking 5,000 coaches before the London Olympics.

Such exciting news Louise. Britain's kayakers must of been thrilled to try it out! Interesting that this site recreates the rapids of the Rocky Mountains as these ruggedly beautiful Canadian Rockies tower over the plains of Alberta and British Columbia and they really are exquisite; so I proudly applaud the "choice of venue". Also wonderful to hear that the official opening of this course was done by the only daughter of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip; Princess Anne, as we do not hear much about her lately. Nice to know that she is part of the London organising committee for the 2012 Olympic Games. I often wonder if she is still somehow involved with horses and equitation events. Good luck to London with the Olympics and I hope it brings a new prosperity to the city and the country. Do keep us posted Louise. Love & Merry Christmas. Sharon Attachments:
